Our Last Snow Storm of 2010?

Well we can only hope!! That 2 inches that fell Tuesday night was nothing compared to what Wednesday had in store for us!! It started snowing and blowing in the wee hours of the morning and kept up all day and into the night. I shovelled out the front and the back up to the gate Wednesday and did the back 2 more times that day.  Thursday I spent 3 1/2 hours outside shovelling and using the snow blower for the driveway and the drifted in city sidewalk.  What fun!!

The beginning of an over hanging snow drift
What it looked like 24 hours later
BBQ anyone?
Even blowing snow can produce art!!
Hmmm, have I got some major packing down of the snow to do!!
Is that a chiffon cake????

Oh My GOD that is a lot of snow!!!!! I can't imagine shoveling it. You are strong and must have lots of warm clothes. Duffy looks so in his element. Vey cool photos.

We have had more at a time, but my age must be making me feel that even a foot is way too much, especially if it is drifted and packed down hard!! I did use thesnow blower on the driveway, because there's no where to put that snow and on the drifted parts but usually it's the shovel and I--and my back screaming "What the he***do you keep doing to me???" And yes I am very strong--and as Dave would say, "Smell isn't everything!" Hahahaha!! As for clothing, in typical Canadian fashion I have many coats, scarves, mitts, gloves, and several pairs of boots!! I don't like hats so I always buy coats with hoods!! It's so much fun to live up here!
Duffy loves the snow alright and even the cold too. He's no wuss!!

K. just said your photos make him love living here.

That is a LOT of snow...holy moly. We were checking out the weather reports, newspaper articles, and traffic cameras from over here, but first hand pictures really say it all. I found it amusing that they interviewed someone from KAL Tire in the Journal and he said that the next day, everyone was in looking for snow tires...um, wouldn't you get them before the big snowfall? Ha ha.

That's what most people do though--wait until after it snows to get those tires!! Because you never know, we just might not have any snow here in the winter and they wouldn't need winter tires after all!!Hahahaha!!! Wishful thinking!!

With every passing winter and all it's shovelling, I think more and more about becoming a snow bird!!

It's really nice in No. Calif.....well, except it might be a little muddy.

Hmmm, well there's a thought!! :) Don't like mud though, but we have all that melting snow muck in the Spring anyway!!
