Well...

No puppy for us this year :(  Sabrina had her puppies on Sunday, July 22, but only had 5--4 girls and 1 boy.  He's a rough sable merle, but there was a woman who had paid in full for her male puppy (in fact she wanted 2 from either of the 2 litters that didn't happen) so she took precedence.  I was first for a Callie puppy and had a deposit in, but when she didn't have puppies, I was on Sprite's list, but no longer first. I phoned Dave to tell him and asked him forlornly, "Is Duffy going to be an only dog, just like I'm an only child?" He said no--bless him!!

Cheryl says she's going to breed Smokey (a lovely rough blue merle) and Delilah (a tri smooth) this winter, so I'm staying on the list there.  I also asked Diana of Entais Collies if she could put me on a list for a Cardiff puppy.  I know I could have a puppy tomorrow, if I gave up my principles and beliefs about vaccinations or wanted to deal with drama filled breeders, but I don't. The former is too important to me and the latter is just too exhausting.  I guess sometimes one does have to wait for the best things in life!!

Meanwhile, I'll be able to take the Homeopathic Repertorization course in September.  If we'd have got a puppy, I don't think I could have taken the course because a new puppy is a lot of work.

I'll leave you with some photos from last week's agility class.  Dave was up here, so I asked him to take photos--but he doesn't think in blog terms!! How can that be????
Good shot of 3 butts! Duffy's is the cutest!!!

I think this was a sequence of jump, tunnel, jump, so I was encouraging him along to the jump.

Duffy was watching the pros practise on the full course on the other side of the arena.

How disappointing for you. I'm sure you'll get your puppy in time - I admire your patience - in the meantime have what sounds like a very interesting course to focus on :)

That has got to be sooo frustrating waiting, waiting, waiting for your little collie puppy. But, the wait will be worth it. I hope Niffy has babies and I can send one to you. It's hard being a breeder. So many things to consider and you named a few of them, besides all the other stuff that goes with it in breeding to our idea of the standard.
Good boy Duffy and good boy Dave for taking photos, if if they aren't super blog worthy!! Duffy looks cute!

Aw, I'm so sorry there's no puppy this year. Next year, just wait, the perfect little puppy will be on his way to you.

The course looks intriguing! Need more photos! Yeah, and tell Dave to get with the program of being a proper blog photo journalist! ;P

Big ((HUGS)) my friend...

Thanks everyone!! I don't know how patient I am, because I do feel sad and frustrated, but there's not much I can do except wait if I'm set on certain things. I think I cried myself out over Callie, so it's been resigned acceptance since then. But I have to believe that at some point that right little puppy will mine!! It sure isn't easy to be a breeder--a good breeder anyway.

xoxo Jolene, Diana, Jane, and Jacqueline. I sure appreciate your support!!

That's too bad, are looking for a rough male? I know quite a few reputable breeders, if you want me to keep an eye out for you...

Hope you get the collie of your dreams. Wait a second, that is Duffy.

What will happen, will happen. Hope it all works out for you. I know that I enjoy having two collies in the house, though I think Essex is perfectly happy being an only Collie.
